Braving the Elements: Football Matches Postponed Yet Action Ensues in Liverpool’s Weekend Showdown

Unfortunately, due to adverse pitch conditions, all Premiership fixtures scheduled for this weekend were postponed.

Division One

Despite pitch conditions postponing most Division One fixtures, Southport & Ainsdale Amateursbattled on, facing Norcross and enduring a 1-4 defeat. Thomas Wright netted the lone goal for S&A, while Norcross demonstrated their prowess with goals from Jack Page (x2), Dylan Woodcock, and David Cartmell.

Division Two

In Division Two, only two fixtures proceeded as scheduled. AFC Ainsdale secured a 5-2 victory over Astley FC Reserves, with goals from their own squad and consolation strikes from Adam Henshall and Charles Young for Astley. Astley’s Connor Geddes was named Player of the Match. 
Bickerstaffe Reserves emerged victorious with a 3-1 win against Broughton Amateurs AFC Reserves, with Andrew Crossthwaite scoring the lone goal for Broughton.

Liverpool FA County Junior Cup – Round 4

In a thrilling encounter in the Liverpool FA County Junior Cup Round 4, Pilkington Reserves, from the West Cheshire league and Bickerstaffe fought fiercely, resulting in a 2-2 draw at full time with the halftime score locked at 1-1. The match extended to penalties, where Bickerstaffe showcased their resilience and skill, prevailing with a 3-5 scoreline. Despite facing adversity with a red card reducing them to 10 men, Bickerstaffe’s determination propelled them to the quarter-finals. Shaun Smyth and substitute Alex Grisedale were the goal scorers for Bickerstaffe, whose exceptional performance secured their progression in the tournament.
