So grab your brew (or something stronger), because here’s how the action unfolded across the divisions — one wild result at a time!

PREMIERSHIP

Astley FC 3-2 Hoole United
Astley FC edged a thrilling encounter against Hoole United, showing grit and determination to see out a 3-2 win. Goals from Cieran Dowd and Luke Robinson gave Astley control, and substitute Max Jackson’s strike proved decisive. Despite a spirited fightback with Gugian Johal netting early and sub Andrew Bain pulling one back late on, Hoole couldn’t find an equaliser in a pulsating contest.

Burscough Dynamo 1-5 Marsh United
It was one-way traffic as Marsh United dismantled Burscough Dynamo in ruthless fashion. Josh Staniforth was the star of the show with an incredible four-goal haul (16, 22, 34, 41), while Fynlay Robert Wren added his name to the scoresheet. James Lowcock’s solitary effort was little consolation for Burscough, who were simply outclassed by a rampant Marsh side.

Highgrove 1-8 Broughton Amateurs AFC
Broughton Amateurs produced a demolition job on their travels, hitting Highgrove for eight. Liam Bell led the charge with a stunning hat-trick, backed up by braces from Jack Long and Oliver Jones, and a goal from James Charlson. Cristian Iacob’s strike was the only bright spark for Highgrove, who were completely overrun by Broughton’s attacking power.

Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs 1-0 Tarleton Corinthians
A tense affair saw Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs edge out Tarleton Corinthians by a single goal. Christy Devlin was the match-winner, calmly converting the decisive chance in a game of few openings. Tarleton battled hard but couldn’t break through a disciplined Southport backline that held firm under pressure.

DIVISION ONE

Castle FC 2-2 Middleton & Overton Sports FC
It was an even contest between Castle FC and Middleton & Overton, ending in a fair 2-2 draw. After a goalless first half, Jake Dwyer broke the deadlock before sub Alex Worthington added a second for the visitors. Castle fought back strongly in the closing stages, with two goals bringing them level to secure a deserved share of the spoils.

Fleetwood Hesketh 3-2 Marsh United Reserves
Fleetwood Hesketh pulled off a dramatic 3-2 victory over Marsh United Reserves in a match full of twists. Alfie Askew gave Marsh the lead on the half-hour mark, but Fleetwood rallied after the break. Sub Danny Grainger equalised, Richie Robinson fired them ahead, and Ryan Wareing looked to have sealed it with a third.

Late drama unfolded when Fleetwood’s keeper, Curtis Holman, was sent off for handling outside the box, and Jordan Ghorst pulled one back for Marsh. Despite being reduced to ten men, Fleetwood held on for a statement win in front of an animated home crowd.

Standish St Wilfrids Reserves 8-0 New Longton Rovers
Standish St Wilfrids Reserves ran riot with a dominant 8-0 thrashing of New Longton Rovers. Jack Saunders opened the scoring before Samir Sobeih stole the show with four goals. Alexander Favell also got in on the act with a clinical hat-trick, as Standish showcased their ruthless finishing from start to finish.

Tarleton Corinthians A 1-4 Sir Tom Finney
Sir Tom Finney impressed on the road with a commanding 4-1 win over Tarleton Corinthians A. Conor Garrett bagged a brace, while Oliver Newton and Joshua Omotoyinbo added further gloss to the scoreline. Sam Cope’s early effort had given Tarleton hope, but Finney’s superior quality told as the game went on.

DIVISION TWO

Bay Rangers FC 3-4 Hoole United Reserves
A seven-goal thriller saw Hoole United Reserves come out on top away at Bay Rangers. Connor Mitchell’s double, alongside goals from Jonathan Wilding and sub Joe Dewhurst, sealed a narrow but deserved win. Bay Rangers battled bravely through Alex Boland, Alan McKeown, and Will Dixon, but couldn’t quite find the equaliser in a gripping encounter.

Chipping FC A 4-4 Shevington Reserves
Fans were treated to a goal fest as Chipping FC A and Shevington Reserves played out a pulsating 4-4 draw. Thomas Douglas, Reuben Keefe, Kieran Smithson, and sub Thomas Maidwell all found the net for Chipping, while Shevington’s Joe Cahill, Dylan Smalley (x2), and Charlie Stockley hit back in a game that swung from end to end. Both sides will feel they could have won it, but a draw was probably the right outcome.

Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs A 3-0 AFC Ainsdale Reserves
Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs A claimed bragging rights in the local derby with a clinical 3-0 victory. Corey Forshaw was the standout, netting twice, while Joshua Leddy added a third to seal the deal. It was a composed and disciplined display from Southport, who controlled the game from the off and kept a clean sheet to cap off a fine afternoon.

GUILDHALL CUP – Round 1

Wigan Rovers 1-3 AFC Ainsdale
AFC Ainsdale advanced to the next round with an impressive 3-1 win away at Wigan Rovers. Matthew Howard opened the scoring before Callum Bayliss levelled things up moments later. But the visitors struck again through Charlie Gray and Owen Nelson to pull clear and secure a deserved victory.

Wigan started brightly but struggled to cope with Ainsdale’s sharpness in the final third. Lewis Blunt provided the assist for Bayliss’ equaliser, yet Ainsdale’s composure and clinical finishing ultimately made the difference in a well-fought cup tie.
