Hoole United showed real resilience as they edged out Burscough Dynamo 2-1 in a tense affair. Alfie Parker got the hosts off to the perfect start with a composed finish in the 17th minute, before Adam Thomas doubled the lead on the hour mark with a clinical strike. It was a disciplined display from Hoole, who controlled key moments and made their chances count.

Burscough Dynamo did threaten a comeback late on through Curtis Carberry, who found the net, but it wasn’t enough to rescue a point. Despite the late pressure, Hoole dug in defensively and held firm to secure a valuable three points.

Shevington 1-4 Marsh United
Shevington were left stunned on home turf as Marsh United stormed to an emphatic 4-1 victory. Shevington did manage to find the net through substitute Samuel Sixsmith, but they were ultimately outclassed.

Marsh United put on a clinical second-half performance with a flurry of goals. Aaron Hoyle opened the scoring in the 48th minute, followed by Daniel Martin (56’), Josh Staniforth (65’) and substitute Robert Billingsley rounding it off in the 76th minute. Marsh looked ruthless in attack and fully deserved their win.

Callum Bayliss opened the scoring on 15 minutes, assisted by Lewis Blunt, before Charlie Wallace equalised seven minutes later. Joshua Omotoyinbo then fired Sir Tom Finney ahead on 32 minutes, only for Bayliss to level from the spot three minutes later. Omotoyinbo struck again on 43 minutes to send the visitors into half-time 3-2 up.

The drama didn’t stop there. Bayliss completed his hat-trick on 65 minutes with help from Oliver Sammon to bring it back to 3-3. Wigan pressed on with belief, and their persistence paid off as they found a late winner to seal all three points in a pulsating seven-goal showdown.

Ribchester Rovers were in commanding form as they beat Chipping FC A 3-0 away from home. Seb Denwood opened the scoring on 30 minutes after being teed up by Teddy Winder, before Robert Adamson doubled the advantage just before half-time in the 44th minute following fine work from Zach Short.

In the second half, Stirling Winder put the game beyond doubt with a composed finish in the 70th minute. Ribchester controlled proceedings from start to finish and fully deserved their clean sheet and three points.

Marsh United A 2-5 Wyre Villa Reserves
Wyre Villa Reserves produced a dominant display to defeat Marsh United A 5-2. The visitors were in free-scoring mood, with Nicholas Hardman-Apps bagging a superb hat-trick, alongside goals from Alexander Rhodes and Tom Whiteside.

Marsh United did have their moments, with Peter Myerscough scoring in the 43rd minute and Jamie Coulton adding another in the 64th, but ultimately they couldn’t cope with Wyre Villa’s attacking firepower.

New Longton Rovers Reserves 1-2 AFC Ainsdale Reserves
AFC Ainsdale Reserves edged a tight contest away to New Longton Rovers Reserves, winning 2-1. Zak Slater found the net for the hosts, but with no away teamsheet available, Ainsdale’s scorers remain unnamed. It was a hard-fought game, but the visitors did just enough to return home with the win.

Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs A 3-2 Shevington Reserves
Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs A came out on top in a 3-2 thriller against Shevington Reserves. Corey Forshaw was the star of the show, firing in a superb hat-trick, while Jonathan McKee Jones also made his mark in a lively contest.

Shevington Reserves pushed them all the way, with Dillon Green scoring twice in the 23rd and 81st minutes, but it wasn’t enough to halt a determined Southport side.


LANCASHIRE FA AMATEUR CUP – Round 2

Bolton County Reserves 1-3 Astley FC
Astley FC put on a strong display to beat Bolton County Reserves 3-1 away from home. Jack Brindle opened the scoring, while Luke Robinson added a brace to seal the victory and secure Astley’s passage into the next round.

Eccleston & Heskin 2-3 Darwen Olive Bar
Eccleston & Heskin pushed Darwen Olive Bar all the way but slipped to a 3-2 defeat in a competitive cup tie. Charlie Simmons was on target twice for the home side, scoring in the 40th and 64th minutes, but despite his efforts, Eccleston couldn’t hold off a determined Darwen side.

Fulwood Amateurs Reserves 2-1 Standish St Wilfrids Reserves
Standish St Wilfrids Reserves battled bravely in their 2-1 defeat to Fulwood Amateurs Reserves. After a goalless first half, they left it late, with Adam Simpkin pulling one back in the 89th minute, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback.

Middleton & Overton Sports FC 0-0 Astley & Tyldesley JFC

Conor Ashe opened the scoring in the 35th minute, before Dominic Case stole the show with a superb hat-trick, netting in the 43rd, 79th and 89th minutes to cap off a brilliant team display.
